Multi-brand expansion in this important market includes flagship Mango Tree branded full-served Thai restaurants in Shanghai and Beijing, and a stylish new Mango Tree Café in Shanghai
Mango Tree Beijing becomes the company’s new flagship restaurant in China’s capital city
BANGKOK, THAILAND – Exquisine Global, the successful franchisor of Mango Tree and COCA Restaurants around the world, has revealed a significant expansion of its portfolio in China, with the opening of three new restaurants in the country’s two most iconic cities, Shanghai and Beijing, including the launch of new flagship full-service Mango Tree restaurants.
This innovative, industry-leading company is no stranger to the mainland Chinese market; it already operates five Mango Tree restaurants located in Qingdao, Guangzhou, Beijing and two in Shanghai, and two Mango Tree Cafés in Shenzhen and Shanghai, with one more Mango Tree Café scheduled to open in Guangzhou early next year. It has also won multiple awards for culinary excellence in China, including the prestigious “Michelin Plate” for Mango Tree Guangzhou, which is located in the 530-metre-high Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre.
Now, Mango Tree has accelerated its growth strategy in China with the launch of a trio of dining destinations that are set to become popular within local diners and visitors alike.
Located in the Taikoo Li shopping mall, the new Mango Tree Shanghai features an alfresco dining terrace
Mango Tree Beijing has opened in the Chinese capital, becoming the group’s new flagship full-service Thai restaurant in the city. Located in the premium Parkview Green lifestyle complex in the city’s Chaoyang district, this attractive venue is surrounded by shopping malls, residential buildings, embassies and other major attractions. Guests will be able to discover exceptional Thai cuisine, including vibrant salads and starters, wok-fried specialties, aromatic curries and delicious tropical desserts, either indoors in the contemporary restaurant or outside on a stylish terrace.
Mango Tree Shanghai has become the group’s fourth location in this cosmopolitan city and its new flagship restaurant. Commanding a prime position in Taikoo Li, a spectacular open-air shopping complex located in the Qiantan area of the city, this elegant, upmarket dining destination showcases exquisite interior design, floor-to-ceiling windows and a choice of indoor and alfresco seating. Signature menu items include classic Thai tom yum goong, fresh mango salad with soft shell crab, pineapple fried rice with seafood, and Thailand’s most famous dessert, mango sticky rice, among many other delectable dishes.
Mango Tree Café Shanghai has introduced a new era of bright, casual Thai dining to the city’s food scene. Perfectly positioned in the Infinitus Mall, in Shanghai’s bustling Huangpu district, this captivating café will let families and friends experience local vibes and highly authentic Thai cuisine in a warm and welcoming ambience, enhanced by playful design, cool drinks and handcrafted cocktails.
All three of these restaurants have already achieved a very high rating on Dianping, the leading Chinese F&B listings and review app, which is trusted by millions of users, and are expected to become popular among Chinese diners who appreciate outstanding and original Thai cuisine.
“We are delighted to unveil these three restaurants in China, as we continue to gain traction and brand recognition in this important market. Thai culture and cuisine have become hugely popular among Chinese consumers in recent years, driven by the popularity of Thailand as a tourist destination for outbound travellers. But while the country’s restaurant industry is thriving, it remains dominated by non-branded outlets. This creates significant opportunities for innovative franchised brands like Mango Tree, and we are excited by the potential for all our brands in China, including full-service restaurants, casual concepts and grab & go kiosks. Alongside Mango Tree’s brands, Exquisine Global is also aiming to roll out Yenly Yours, a cool mango dessert brand, with up to 50 cafés and kiosk-style stores in China in the coming years,” revealed Trevor MacKenzie, Managing Director, Exquisine Global.
Following these three new openings, Exquisine Global now operates more than 70 Mango Tree and COCA Restaurants around the world and is striding confidently towards its target of operating 100 outlets worldwide by 2025.
